The NDIS is one of the biggest social investments in Australia’s history – and it’s changing what support looks like for hundreds of thousands of people with disability.
As of late 2025, more than 751,000 people are benefiting from the NDIS – and over half are receiving disability support for the first time in their lives.
The Scheme is forecast to invest around $49 billion in personalised disability supports in 2024–25, making it one of Australia’s largest social programs.
Outcome data shows the number of NDIS participants aged 15–24 in paid work has more than doubled since the Scheme began – proof that the right supports open real opportunities.
Behind these big numbers are individual stories. At Al Amira Disability Services we focus on making sure your funding actually turns into the day-to-day support you need.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funds supports for eligible people with disability so they can work towards their goals and live more independently.

Yes. Al Amira Disability Services is a registered NDIS provider with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. This means we are regularly checked against the NDIS Practice Standards to make sure our services are safe, respectful and high quality.
To access the NDIS you usually need to be under 65, live in Australia, meet residency requirements and have a permanent and significant disability. You can start an access request by contacting the NDIS, through your GP or specialist. We’re happy to talk you through the steps and documents you may need.
Yes. Choice and control are central to the NDIS. We’ll introduce you to suitable workers and you can tell us who you feel comfortable with. If a match isn’t right, we’ll work with you to find someone who is – with no pressure.
The NDIS looks at your functional needs, goals and existing supports, then decides what is “reasonable and necessary” to help you reach those goals. Your funding is grouped into different budgets (Core, Capacity Building, Capital). We can help you understand your plan and how to use each budget effectively.
Yes, in many cases. We offer early morning, evening and weekend supports where this aligns with your goals and funding. We’ll discuss your routines and build a roster that works for you, including any relevant NDIS pricing for after-hours services.
We’re here to listen first, then support you to build a plan – and a routine – that truly fits your life.
